We've heard of dancing in the street......Aylesbury Street, Fenny Stratford, may normally be a busy road but it was converted into a bustling village green for the Poppers Festival on Sunday. The festival, celebrating Fenny's rich heritage, was a national first featuring a scuba diving pool in the street, along with music, football competitions, and of course the firing of the Fenny Poppers. Event organiser and Fenny businessman Damon LeGeyt said: "The festival was a huge success, with over 3,500 people coming to enjoy the afternoon. It was especially good as we were spared the rain, and there was not one incident involving the police. "it will definitely be happening again next year." |
